I found the article a great lesson to share. I didn’t know about the Gaelic festival of Samhain?? The bit about the origin of trick/treating was fascinating too. Thank you Rob, now I have some interesting answers to give my blinkered non Christian friends!!

Excellent article, as a member of the Catholic Church and fro. Ireland 🇮🇪 its very accurately outlined.
It was from here it spread across to America , wherethey used hollowed out turnips here in lreland , in America it was replaced by the pumpkin.
Commercialism has taken it to another level to make money.
In a shop a few years ago at the entrance, Santa at one side and a witch at the other, how sad that this is happening, our faith in Christ Jesus is being eroded by these things, but we know that he has the victory.

It’s unacceptable and compromises Biblical principles. For that matter even Christmas (besides being a totally wrong date) is occultic in nature: christmas tree, holly wreath n leaves – even santaclaus is demonic and pagan. If you dont care to celebrate the feast of the Lord why would you celebrate this pagan feast?

Thanks Rob.. This is a great article. I was listening to John Ramirez, a former Satanist, now pastor. He said that the reason for costumes is to steal a child’s identity. I had never heard that before but I wanted to pass it on to you.
