I was reminded of two unpleasant experiences while fasting due to the physical changes that took place within the body. The first memory happened during a 10 day fast: I was very grumpy and out of sorts. Unfortunately my room mates noticed that. The second event occurred over a much longer fast. On the fifth day my friend invited me to go somewhere. About 5 minutes into the car ride he said, “you stink”. I put my head out of the window but he repeated his comment more than once. I was very embarrassed. Stinking toxins were leaving through my body and through my breath. As a result of each fast God moved powerfully.At the conclusion of the 2nd fast my friend told me how he had renewed/redeadicated his life to Jesus. That surprised me because he wasn’t on my prayer list during that fast. If one seeks God with genuine intent during a fast expect to be surprised.

I had given up utterly on it because I have so many failures in my history but I am moved by the spirit to try again and with you. I believe that the call to fast has gone out to the whole church.
